New Store Spotlight: Stitchwell Fabrics

Stitchwell Fabrics is a new fabric store that has opened recently in Skippack. I had already planned a visit there so I took a few photos to share with everyone.

The store is run by Lindsay and her husband (I didn't get their photos, but you can see them on their site). They were really kind and welcoming and helpful. And, they have offered all PMQG members a 10% discount on fabrics!! Yay!

The building is shared with a Yarn store and when you enter the fabric is to the left and yarn to the right. I had to share this cute piece they have in the entry way that combines the two.

The front room has fabric and embroidery projects in addition to cute notions and items like bakers twine.

This leads to another room of fabric and patterns.

I just had to get a picture of the cozy nook.

And the other side has the stairs to the second floor.

Up there is a classroom with lots of great room. Plenty of room for a sewing day! Lindsay has generously offered to host us. I didn't get a photo because there was a group in there already.

But next door to that was more fabric!

In my opinion, Lindsay has great taste in fabrics and projects! If you get a chance, please stop buy and support her business. Don't forget to mention that you are a PMQG member so you can get your discount.

October 2012 PMQG Meeting

This months meeting was a busy one! We had lots of business and announcements and the spotlight was on Denise which I will share later.

Our challenge was to make a nametag for ourselves.

Cathy had a sentimental nametag made of bits from items she had from her family.

Pat made a paper pieced star.

Bobbi had fussy cut pieces making up the circles in her name.

Jill made a "Bobbi 9 patch".

Tricia's is a tiny turtle.

Denise did patchwork.

Cathy made tiny hexagons.

Mine is a paper pieced sewing machine.

Show and Tell and Brainstorming quilts were shared:

Anna Z. was looking for quilting ideas for her Swoon quilt that needs to be quilted quickly before auction.

Danette showed her ModPod  quilt top.

Denise brought in a Chopsticks made by her friend.

Andrew also brought in a Chopsticks quilt (which I thought I got a better photo of!).

Next month we will have our discussion of specialty rulers. Please bring your ruler and any quilts you might have made with it. We will also be starting our Holiday Swap. Start thinking about what you would like to receive. Sign ups will be at the meeting and online.
